Last month I was lucky enough to be invited to the Sunday Wireless Festival with Debenhams and a host of lovely bloggers! The festival takes place in Finsbury Park and I have been an avid fan of the festival for the past 4 years so I was thrilled to be invited along to watch the acts as a VIP.
My outfit
We each selected an outfit to wear to the festival from Debenhams. I wore this summery Yellow Miss Selfridge Ditzy bardot playsuit (now reduced to £25.60 in the sale), which was a perfect outfit to wear during the crazy summer heatwave we had (plus it was great for avoiding pesky tan lines). I teamed it with a pair of jazzy pink Red Herring sunglasses (that are £11.20 in the sale). Finally I opted for these lovely white Head Over Heels by Dune trainers (I had been looking for a pair just like them for ages that are a steal at £53). Despite only putting them on for the first time at the festival, my feet were comfy for the entire day (which included a hefty amount of jumping around).
The Day
I had spoken to a couple of the bloggers before the event so we met at the VIP check in desk – we were part of the Bohemia Package – and then headed into the festival to find the rest of the bloggers and the Debenhams team. Usually when I go to Wireless I just buy a regular ticket so I was chuffed to head into the VIP village and do some celebrity spotting. I’m usually quite nervous when I go to blog events but luckily all the girls were incredibly friendly and we all hit it off straight away (although the free bar in the Bohemia tent may have helped slightly).
If you’d like to check out the other bloggers that attended the festival with me they are:
- Lucy of AbsolutelyLucy– travel blogger taking on the world one country at a time
- Noelle of ByNoelle– Swedish-born, travel-loving London lifestyle blogger
- Richael of Shell La Belle– lovely Irish style blogger recently moved from Tipperary to London
- Luisa of Luisa-Christie – Vegan, cruelty free and festival blogger
- Where’s My Tent – hugely knowledgable festival blogger
- Martha of MarthaDahhling– lifestyle blogger focused on fashion, food and travel
Our Bohemia package meant we could hang around the VIP village away from the crazy crowds around the main stage and enjoy free drinks from the Bohemia tent aswell as food from some of their food trucks. If you have read my blog for a while you will know I’m obsessed with burgers so I tried a cheeseburger from Burger and Beyond: http://burgerandbeyond.co.uk/ and it was INCREDIBLE. Definitely hit the spot.
In between the acts, we covered ourselves in glitter, took lots of snaps (we are bloggers after all) and went on a celeb hunt. I have SUCH a keen eye for spotting celebrities and we saw quite a few. Jourdan Dunn made a small appearance, looking even more striking in real life. We saw a few reality TV stars – Jess & Dom from Love Island and Ryan from Made in Chelsea. We also managed to grab a picture with Brooklyn Beckham who was a mixture of polite and annoyed at being pestered for the umpteenth time by someone for a photograph.
The two acts I was looking forward to seeing most were Giggs & DJ Khaled. Giggs performed an incredible set and rumours had circulated all day that Drake would be doing a surprise performance of his new album as DJ Khaled who was supposed to be headlining, had dropped out last minute.
The surprise headliner was set to perform after Giggs and after Giggs abruptly ended his set, we all stood in suspense waiting. A few moments later, the owl logo from Drake’s clothing line – October’s Very Own – appeared on the stage and the crowd went MENTAL. Drake ran onto the stage and performed an unforgettable set for just 20 minutes, which despite not being very long was still phenomenal to watch (and let’s face it, better than DJ Khaled was going to be) and ended the day on a complete high.
I want to say a huge huge thank you to Debenhams for inviting me along to Wireless, I had an amazing time (my best yet at Wireless!) met some lovely ladies and wore an outfit that I have already reworn about 7 times!
To my lovely readers, have any of you been to Wireless? Or any other festivals this year?
